In 1986, Kid Icarus was released in Japan. Pit was the star of that game, and through Super Smash Bros. Brawl, the old character was revived, and given a new updated title, Kid Icarus: Uprising, which introduced the character Dark Pit. in Smash Bros. for WiiU/3DS, these two fight almost identically, Dark Pit is a bit more powerful than pit, his arrows don't curve as much, and his electroshock arm launches opponents at a lower angle than pit's upperdash arm.
Both of them fight pretty much the same, with their standard attack creating a nearly unstoppable whirlwind with their blades that dish out rapid hits if you press it fast enough. if you want to be really annoying, you can stay back and fire arrows from your bow. The side-special upperdash/electroshock arm deals a lot of damage and knockback, and can reflect projectiles, but it stops if you hit something and leaves you wide open after you use it. The attacks in the air aren't too bad either, with most of them dealing multiple hits with the spinning blades. if you fight against someone who seems to spam a ranged attack over and over, the guardian orbitars will send it right back at them and when you get launched, your multiple jumps and incredible recovery move will get you back with no problem.
when fighting against these two, your best bet is to get them completely off screen as they can recover from nearly anything. that or meteor smash them into a pit, no pun intended this time. be careful of the guardian orbitars, and when they use their dash arms, roll dodge out of the way, then hit them with a powerful attack.
